Silencer Central rebuilt its checkout around the Form 4473 within a week of ATF's Oct. 9 guidance while keeping home delivery for states that still require a Form 4. The company is betting the suppressor buyer now looks like any other gun buyer, someone who wants to walk out of a local store with the product. Its moat was handling the NFA paperwork for the customer, and as that paperwork fades, the dealer network becomes the asset it is building instead.
