Commercial Fishing Companies Sue Over Permits Expanding Recreational Red Snapper Catch

For charter captains and tackle shops in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina, a bigger red snapper season now comes with a court case attached. Commercial fishing companies claim in D.C. federal court that the federal permits expanding this year's recreational catch violate federal law by cutting into their share. Anyone selling trips on the strength of those permits is selling on terms a judge may now review.
