Beretta Reports Foreign-Intelligence Interference in More Than One European Country

Beretta Holding Chairman and CEO Pietro Gussalli Beretta told Il Sole 24 Ore that the group has received reports from more than one European country where it has facilities, and that it has experienced problems with both cyber security and what he called interference of a different nature, "let's say from foreign intelligence services." In Italy, he said, the problem was cyber security only, and the group is cooperating with the authorities in the countries involved. He did not name the other countries, the sites, the dates or who was behind it, and did not say whether production, shipping or data were affected. Beretta Holding's European operations make brands U.S. dealers stock, including Benelli, Sako and Tikka, and Gussalli Beretta put defense at about 40 percent of group turnover in the same interview.
